MOVE Triathlon 2025
Community Event
See you at the startline for the 2025 MOVE Triathlon!
Registrations are now OPEN for the 2025 MOVE Triathlon on Sunday 30 March!
The MOVE Triathlon is the biggest annual community event brought to you by the MOVE Moonee Valley team.
It's the event that will have you swimming laps at Queens Park Swimming Pool, riding through the streets of Moonee Ponds, and running through Queens Park, before crossing the finish line back inside Queens Park Swimming Pool.
The great part about the MOVE Triathlon, is that it's for all ages and abilities. You don't need to be a professional athlete to participate - but if you are, we sugget signing up for the SPRINT race. In previous years, some participants have found the MOVE Triathlon to be a great way to challenge themselves, do something completely out of their comfort zone, make it a day with their family, try something new with their bestie etc.
Even if you want to get a team together and make it a group effort, we welcome that as well - but it's worth pointing out that everybody in the group still needs to complete all three stages. this isn't a relay race...
As there is a swimming component, it is recommended that if you are registering, that you do so with the capacity to adequately swim the distance for that race category, unassisted. There will be lifeguards monitoring the pool during the entire race, so assistance will be readily available if you need to exit the pool.
There are three different race catergories participants can choose from:
KIDS - 100m Swim | 2.7km Ride | 300m Run
ENTICER - 200m Swim | 7km Ride | 1.5km Run
SPRINT - 400m Swim | 13.5km Ride | 3km Run
Approximate start times on the day:
- Registrations open - 6:00am
- KIDS event start - 7:30am
- SPRINT event start - 7:45am
- ENTICER event start - 8:00am
IMPORTANT: You will need to have your own bike for the RIde element of the Triathlon. We suggest ensuring that you do a thorough safety check a week or two prior to race day to make sure that brakes and gears are working properly, tyres are inflated to their recommended PSI, and components such as pedals, seats, handlebars etc are all firmly fastened. Speak to your local bike shop about booking in your bike for a service.
Registrations are available online via the Ticketebo website - MOVE Triathlon 2025
Concession pricing is available for individual members and non-members tickets using the code MOVEMVCC-61 during the checkout process online. Please note that you will be required to provide proof of concession (e.g. Government-issued concession card) prior to race day.
TIP: Plan your race day the day before - swimming outfit, towel, swim cap (optional), goggles (recommended), drink bottle, snacks. There will also be showers and change room access during the event, so feel free to bring a change of clothes with you to change into something warm after your race.
